So yesterday was the Lethbridge & District Humane Society's Annual Dog Jog. This is one of their main fundraisers, and I was lucky enough to get to take photos for the day. It was a great event, even though the weather didn't hold out. It was rainy and cool, but everyone had fun, and it was very fun to see all of the cool doggy rain fashions!
Like Bentley in his cool rain jacket,
and one of my favourites was this little Boston Terrier with his hooded rain jacket,
This little girl was high fashion in her pink hoodie.
Who can resist pink camo?
There were amazing demonstrations by members of the Canadian Search Dog Association.
Bailey, owned & handled by Erin Olsen is able to find things like pennies and batteries in the grass. Bailey was definitely a crowd favourite, as Erin adopted Bailey from the Humane Society when she was a puppy.
Timber is also an amazing search dog who showed off his skills, and played Tic Tac To as part of the demonstration.
Of course, not everyone wanted to brave the rain.
It was pure joy for this happy golden to be surrounded by people.
This girl was ready to go Dog Joggin' . . . . or maybe she just wanted some hot dog:)
How could you possibly resist this face?
Or this one?
There were some little dogs.
Lots of medium sized dogs.
These sweet, beauties were rescued from a race track.
I'm pretty sure that this happy girl carried her toy all the way around the lake.
This little Westie was a whole lot of personality wrapped up in that very cute little body!
And of course, the beautifully, sweet Lily was there to greet everyone.
Despite the rain, a great time was had by all.
I especially had a great time getting to know the wonderful people and dogs. It's great to see how much people care, and the effort that they are willing to put in for the animals that don't have a voice.
If you are considering getting a pet, I sincerely hope that you consider rescuing an animal. Do your research, so you get the right pet for your family. Rescued dogs can do anything that any other dogs can do, including obedience, agility and other dog sports, search & rescue, or simply be loyal companions. There are truly some amazing pets out there, just waiting for their forever homes.
